Building an oven in spring often takes several weekends. The materials then remain on site between stages, and garden conditions change faster than the the planned timetable. Prepare the storage area before delivery so that mortar, adhesive, and insulation are ready for use in the required condition.
Keep the product in its package separate from the finished joint
Outdoor Oven Cement is a dry material requiring proper preparation. The resistance of a correctly set joint to external conditions does not mean that an opened package of the mixture can be left in the rain. Check the storage requirements on the label and in the current data sheet.
Ceramic Fibre Adhesive also has its own storage conditions and usable life. Do not apply a single set of conditions to all cartridges and bags. Arrange products so that their markings can be read without moving the entire delivery.
Protect from the substrate and accidental contamination
Choose a sheltered location and stable arrangement of packages. Check that water does not collect underneath them or run off from a neighboring roof. Covering from above may not be sufficient if moisture comes from the ground.

Check the material before the next stage
- Product, batch marking, and specified usable-life date.

- Traces of moisture, contamination, and improper storage.
- Preparation instructions for a specific variant.
If the condition of the product raises doubts, determine its suitability based on the instructions or with the manufacturer. Do not restore its consistency by randomly diluting or mixing hardened parts with fresh material. Recording storage conditions will make it easier to later identify a bonding problem when it is necessary to distinguish the impact of application from the condition of the product used.
